Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) commences share repurchases on September 3, 2020, under the program mandated by the shareholders in the Annual General Meeting held on May 14, 2020. As per the mandate, the company is authorized to repurchase up to 500,000,000 shares, representing 4.92% for €2,000 million. The repurchased shares will be disposed. The program will be valid for 18 months. On July 30, 2020, the company announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase up to 1,720,000 shares, representing 0.017% of its share capital. The repurchase price will be no more than 10% lower or higher than the reference price of company's shares on the Mercato Telematico Azionario organized and managed by Borsa Italiana S.p.A. in the trading day preceding each individual transaction and not exceed the higher between the price of the last independent trade and the highest current independent purchase bid on the MTA. The purpose of the program is to serve the Long-term incentive Plan 2020 reserved to the management of company and/or of its subsidiaries pursuant to Article 2359 of the Italian Civil Code. The program will commence on September 3, 2020 and will expire on December 7, 2020. As of July 30, 2020, the company had 1,549,152 shares in treasury.
