Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) today extends its congratulations to the Mirarr Traditional Owners on the successful grant of land and execution of the Section 19A township lease for Jabiru.

ERA shares the vision of the Mirarr Traditional Owners that, from its origin as a town to support mining in the region, Jabiru has a bright future with Aboriginal ownership, participation, and culture at its heart.

ERA is honoured to be part of the local community with our employees and their families continuing to reside in Jabiru.

ERA Chief Executive Mr Paul Arnold said: 'Today is the celebration of a significant milestone and we extend our congratulations and best wishes to the Mirarr Traditional Owners on this grant of land and execution of the S19A lease.'

ERA is currently progressing a housing refurbishment program in Jabiru. ERA is committed to working with Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation (GAC), Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation Jabiru Town (GACJT), Jabiru Kabolkmakmen Ltd (JKL) and all other stakeholders in Jabiru to complete this program.

After 40 years of production, ERA's strategic priority and focus now is to successfully rehabilitate the Ranger Project Area to a standard that could be incorporated into the surrounding world heritage listed Kakadu National Park.
