In a framework agreement signed at the Paris Air Show, Engie announced that it has been selected by Airbus to contribute to its decarbonization roadmap by deploying customized solutions at the aircraft manufacturer's 22 sites.
Amongst the levers envisaged in this agreement are the decarbonization of heat production, energy efficiency solutions, local renewable electricity production, and smart energy management.
After roadmaps have been drawn up for each site, engineering studies will be carried out and projects will be rolled out from 2026 onwards, with the infrastructure to be operated and maintained by Engie coming into service by 2029 at the latest.
The decarbonization solutions proposed by the energy group will support Airbus' commitment to reduce its energy purchases by 20% and greenhouse gas emissions at its sites in France, Germany, and Spain by 85% by 2030.
