PARIS, Feb 22 (Reuters) - French energy company Engie raised its 2024 financial guidance, as it posted a rise in annual core profits.

Engie's net recurring income for 2023 totalled 5.4 billion euros ($5.85 billion), up from 5.2 billion euros in 2022. Full-year earnings before tax and interest, excluding its nuclear activities, was 9.5 billion euros, up from 8 billion in 2022.

Engie said that, even as European gas and power prices have retreated from peaks seen in 2022, it was increasing its 2024 guidance.

Engie was now targeting 2024 net recurring income on a group share basis of between 4.2-4.8 billion euros - up from 3.8-4.4 billion given before.

The company added it now expected 2024 earnings before interest (EBIT), excluding its nuclear activities, of between 7.5-8.5 billion euros - up from a previous target of 7.2-8.2 billion.

Engie also proposed a 2023 dividend of 1.43 euros per share.
