ENGIE Brasil Energia (EGIE3) has announced the conclusion of the operation to acquire the totality of the capital stock of Assu Sol Geração de Energia, located in the municipality of Assú (RN).

With negotiations beginning in September this year, the acquisition concluded today contemplates a total nominal installed capacity of up to 750MW, the plant's output to be transacted across the Free Contracting Environment. The Assú Sol project has a Preliminary License, signed land right agreements, a filed application for a Concession Grant and with the regulatory process for the Grid Access Opinion pending. The total maximum value of the operation is R$ 41,250,000.00 (forty-one million, two hundred and fifty thousand Reais) with payments to be made in accordance with the Project's development schedule.

"The acquisition increases the potential installed capacity of our portfolio of projects at an advanced stage of development by approximately 50%, this now totaling more than 2.2 GW and thus continuing our strategy of growth in renewable energy generation", said Chief Executive and Investor Relations Officer at ENGIE Brasil Energia, Eduardo Sattamini.

The transaction also enhances ENGIE's presence in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Here, in addition to operating a photovoltaic generation asset since 2017, the Company is also investing R$ 2.3 billion in the implementation of the Santo Agostinho Wind Complex in the municipalities of Lages and Pedro Avelino, located approximately 100km from Assú.
