ENGIE Brasil Energia's (EGIE3) shares have again been selected for inclusion in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of B3 - Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão S.A. for 2022. Seen as the most important corporate sustainability index in Brazil and the fourth in the world, the ISE provides support to investors in making investment decisions and induces companies to adopt best ESG practices, deemed as important for maintaining the longevity of businesses. The new portfolio will be valid from January to December 2022.

The company was listed at the 7th. overall position, among the 45 companies in the index, being the 1st. of the electricity sector in the second preview of ISE, presented today by B3. This is the 17th consecutive year that ENGIE Brasil Energia has been on the list - since the launch of the index - which was repeated by only five other companies.

"We are particularly proud of this achievement, principally in the light of such a challenging scenario as the past two years. Sustainability remains at the core of our growth strategy, focus of which is on investments in renewable energy and transmission infrastructure. We continue committed to guaranteeing the execution of socio-environmental programs which benefit the regions where we have our operations, maintaining our profound respect for people and the planet as guidelines for our activities", explains the Company's Chief Executive and Investor Relations Officer, Eduardo Sattamini.

In line with new methodology, for the first time, the index has declassified those companies with a high reputational risk while taking into account the score obtained by those companies in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for evaluating climate change initiatives.

Yet another important change was the sectorization of the questionnaire. Now B3's ISE shows rankings with general scores as well as scores by sector with the aim of facilitating investors and managers in the mapping of companies with B3 listed shares and most advanced in their ESG agenda.

BR's Carbon Efficient Index (ICO2)

ENGIE Brasil Energia has again been selected as a component of the new Carbon Efficient Index (ICO2) portfolio of B3 - Brasil, Bolsa e Balcão, for the second year running. ICO2 is made up of shares of the companies comprising the IBrX 100 and where there is a greater transparency in relation to the greenhouse gas emissions report and how each is preparing for a low carbon economy.

With its inception in 2010, ICO2 B3 seeks to act as a catalyst for discussions on climate change in Brazil. "ENGIE is committed to leading the transition to a low carbon economy and its participation in the ICO2 portfolio recognizes our activity and transparency with this theme, Sattamini adds.
