DALLAS (AP) _ EnLink Midstream LLC (ENLC) on Thursday reported a loss of $286.8 million in its first quarter.

The Dallas-based company said it had a loss of 59 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs, came to 14 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 5 cents per share.

The natural gas company posted revenue of $1.16 billion in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.67 billion.

The company's shares closed at $1.71. A year ago, they were trading at $11.06.
