STOCKHOLM--Investor AB said Wednesday that it supports EQT AB's proposed 6.8 billion euro ($7.5 billion) acquisition of Baring Private Equity Asia.
Investor is the largest shareholder in EQT with a 17.4% stake, and it said that following the proposed acquisition it will remain the largest shareholder with a holding of around 14.6%.
Investor is the investment vehicle of Sweden's prominent Wallenberg family and owns stakes in some of the country's largest companies, including telecom giant Ericsson AB, home-appliance manufacturer Electrolux AB and lender Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB.
