Equinor announces that the Ministry of Energy has awarded it 27 new production licenses as part of this year's Awards in Predefined Areas (APA).

The licenses are shared between the North Sea (20), Norwegian Sea (6) and Barents Sea (1), with Equinor as operator for seven and partner for 20.

' We need to explore more to contribute to Europe's energy security and maintain our position as a reliable energy supplier', says Jez Averty, Senior Vice President for Norwegian Continental Shelf Subsoil.

Equinor plans to drill around 250 exploration wells by 2035, leveraging its existing offshore infrastructure to accelerate discovery development and reduce costs.
