Eramet announced on Monday that it has taken note of the Gabonese government's intention to ban the export of raw manganese starting in 2029, and expressed its desire to continue operating in the country.

In a statement, the mining group reaffirmed its commitment to "preserve the strategic role" of its subsidiaries, Comilog and Setrag, as leading global suppliers of manganese for the steel industry, "as well as the 10,460 Gabonese jobs they support."

With a presence in Gabon for over 30 years, Eramet added that it wishes to continue its collaboration with the Gabonese state in "a spirit of constructive partnership and mutual respect."
