The role of Ericsson technology and innovation in driving a future of sustainable limitless connectivity is firmly in the spotlight at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai today, as part of Sweden Day at the global fair.

Ericsson technology, demonstrations and future-tech insights form a key part of Sweden's Co-Creation for Innovation-themed exhibition space at Expo 2020.

Ericsson President and CEO, Borje Ekholm, is among a strong delegation of Swedish industry and business leaders taking part in Sweden Day.

Ekholm is a panelist in the Smart Society Summit: Building the future with Sweden panel session alongside Bjorn Rosengren, CEO, ABB and Martin Lundstedt, CEO and President, Volvo Group.

Topics include cooperation between business, academia and government; changing business models; and making the smart society a reality.

Members of the Sweden's Royal Family are also attending the country's national day events at Expo 2020.

Exhibiting countries are allocated a focus day during the six-month expo, with December 15 dedicated to Sweden.

The Swedish pavilion space at the current expo is the largest pavilion Sweden has staged at any World Expo to date. The nation's event theme is Knowledge and Learning.

Ericsson has already taken part in a number of events at Expo 2020 including staging thought leadership sessions on digital inclusion and climate action as part of the expo's Sustainability Day in October.

In 2022, Ericsson will take part in at least six event days before the expo concludes on March 31, 2022.
