Essential Utilities, Inc. Appoints David A. Ciesinski to the Board

On July 2, 2021, the Board of Directors of Essential Utilities, Inc., increased the size of the Board to nine and appointed David A. Ciesinski to the Board, effective on July 2, 2021, to fill the vacancy. David A. Ciesinski currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lancaster Colony Corporation (“Lancaster Colony”). Lancaster Colony is a manufacturer and marketer of specialty food products for the retail and foodservice markets. Lancaster Colony is the parent of the well-known and well-established T. Marzetti Company, among other brands. Mr. Ciesinski has served as President of Lancaster Colony since April 2016 and as its Chief Executive Officer since July 2017. The Board has also appointed Mr. Ciesinski as a member of its Audit Committee and its Corporate Governance Committee.
Essential Utilities, Inc. is a holding company for regulated utilities providing water, wastewater, or natural gas services. The Companyâs segments include the Regulated Water segment and the Regulated Natural Gas segment. The Regulated Water segment consists of water and wastewater regulated utility companies, which are organized by the states where the Company provides water and wastewater services. The Regulated Natural Gas segment consists of natural gas utility companies, acquired in the Peoples Gas Acquisition, for which the Company provides natural gas distribution services. It provides services across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, Illinois, North Carolina, New Jersey, Indiana, Virginia, and Kentucky under the Aqua and Peoples brands. The Company also operates market-based activities, conducted through its non-regulated subsidiaries, that provide utility service line protection solutions and repair services to households and gas marketing and production activities.
