On this occasion, Dr. Taweesak Bunluesin (Right), director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, presented a 300,000-baht fund to Monthon Paksuwan (Left), deputy secretary-general of Office of Vocational Education Commission, in support of the promotion of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education among vocational students and the application of their knowledge to communities including the opportunities to turn into 'start-ups.'

The contests were organized among vocational institutes nationwide ranging from provincial, regional and national rounds. This year, a total of 40 projects of vocational students have been selected at national level. The national winning team at high vocational level is Uttaradit Vocational Education College for the study project of the properties of bio tubes from jelly powder. Another national winning team at vocational level is Surat Thani Technical College for the study project of Nano sync oxide and TEFLON that affects the product properties of banana fibers dyed with teak leaves.

Esso has continuously supported the program for over 30 years in recognizing importance of innovations to help solve community issues. The awarded projects were based on effective solutions to their communities with potential to be further developed and extended to other communities as needed.
