Chargé d'Affaires Peter Haymond (4th left) of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand presented the 2018 AMCHAM Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Recognition Gold Level Award to Chairman and Managing Director Jeremy R. Osterstock (3rd left) of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited. The presentation ceremony took place at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok.

The AMCHAM CSR Excellence (ACE) program was established to raise corporate social responsibility commitment, share best practices, and provide recognition to AMCHAM members who conduct business in a way that creates long-term economic and social value.

This year, the presented work was on Esso support to Office of Vocational Education Commission and Science Society of Thailand under Patronage of His Majesty the King to organize Vocational Science Project Contest where 450 teams of vocational students can showcase their skills and talent by developing innovative science projects that provide solutions to community problems. A total of 40 winning teams in the national round were invited to join the STARTUP 101 training session and participate in R-League held by National Innovation Agency while four teams were selected to receive funding for prototype development or knowledge transfer to the communities. This program was also selected as finalists for Excellence in Developing Smart People category which contributes to Thailand 4.0 objectives in building human capacity.
