ATHENS, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Greece's bank rescue fund HFSF said on Wednesday it appointed Nikolas Valantasis as its new deputy chief executive officer.

Valantasis has held numerous leadership positions in top-tier banking and consulting institutions, including McKinsey, Citigroup, Eurobank and Barclays in Europe and North America, the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund said.

The HFSF fund holds stakes in Greece's four big banks - Piraeus, National, Eurobank and Alpha - after taking part in three recapitalisations in the past. (Reporting by George Georgiopoulos; Editing by Kirsten Donovan)
