(Alliance News) - EuroGroup Laminations Spa is participating in the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP28, in Dubai, where it presented SiGreen.

EuroGroup Laminations presented together with Siemens - the world's leading provider of technology services -, TyssenKrupp, one of the world's leading producers of electrical steel, and ZF - a German multinational supplier of systems for the automotive industry -, the application of the innovative SiGreen software to a pilot case.

SiGreen enables the calculation of the Product Carbon Footprint, tracking the amount of CO2 emitted per component throughout the supply chain. It also uses the innovative Chain X standard, the first open, collaborative data ecosystem developed for the automotive industry and promoted by major manufacturers.

"SiGreen represents a concrete step for the further reduction of CO2 emissions related to the life cycle of the electric-powered car," the company said.

Leonardo Franchini, CEO of the Automotive Business division of EuroGroup Laminations, at the panel "Exploring technology's role in industrial decarbonization: Insights from industry leaders," said, "Eurogroup Laminations' participation in COP28 and the adoption of SiGreen represent an operational step to address the urgency of decarbonization and the necessary assumption of responsibility by major manufacturing industries to collectively address the challenges of climate change."

"Transparency among companies in the electric motor supply chain ensures that we can have reliable and timely CO2 data exchange and measure the success of decarbonization efforts. The PCF will in the future be one of the items that will make up the Digital Product Passport, in addition to the technical characteristics of the product itself it will contain data on associated emissions and any CO2 offsets that have occurred. We are making progress, but it is only the beginning of the journey toward a sustainable future for the Planet."

EuroGroup Laminations' stock is up 1.3 percent at EUR3.60 per share.
