Activity on Euronext's cash markets fell again in October, but rose sharply on the fixed-income side, according to data published by the exchange operator.

On the cash markets, average daily trading volume was down 20% on October 2022, reaching 2.38 million last month, although it was still 2% up on September.

In a press release, Euronext points out that trading volumes on its fixed-income markets continued to perform "very well".

On its MTS Cash bond platform, average daily volume jumped by 76% compared with October 2022, to 27.83 million transactions, the highest in almost two years.

On MTS Repo, its trader-to-trade interest rate trading system, average daily volume climbed by 27% in adjusted terms compared with October 2022, representing the highest level of activity since March 2020.

The IPO market remains particularly depressed, with only two new listings on Euronext exchanges in October, compared with six in September and October 2022.
