Draftkings will close its live dealer studio in Atlantic City, affecting 101 employees, Next.io reports.
The employees were reportedly notified on Monday. Their employment will end on January 31 next year. Draftkings will instead use third-party studios in Atlantic City.
The studio was relaunched by Draftkings in 2022 after the acquisition of Golden Nugget Online Gaming, GNOG.
GNOG was the first company to launch a live dealer studio in the US in 2016, which was operated in Golden Nugget Atlantic City in partnership with Evolution subsidiary Ezugi.
DraftKings, incidentally, opened its own live dealer studio in New Jersey under its own brand in 2019. Operating 24/7 from the Hard Rock Casino Atlantic City, it was developed in partnership with Evolution and initially launched with six tables, five of which offered blackjack.
Evolution AB specializes in the development, publishing and marketing of live casino games on the Internet for gaming operators. The group operates in the fields of roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker games, while offering software solutions and online casino platforms live on computers, smartphones and tablets.
At the end of 2023, Evolution AB had 20 production studios located in the United States (5), Canada (2), Malta (2), Spain (2), Argentina, Colombia, Armenia, Belgium, Georgia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Sweden (0.1%), Malta (73.4%), Curaçao (18.8%), Australia (2.5%), North America (1%) and other (4.2%).
