BALTIMORE - Kate Norman, formerly vice president, Wholesale Trading, has been named SVP & Chief Commercial Risk Officer.

She will report to Paymon Aliabadi, EVP and Chief Enterprise Risk Officer, Exelon, and become a member of Constellation CEO Jim McHugh's leadership team.

Filling the role previously held by Funmi Williamson, Norman will lead the risk management function for Constellation and Exelon Generation and assume responsibility for the identification, assessment, and monitoring of Strategic, Financial and Operational risks. (Williamson transitioned to Chief Customer Officer for PECO, Exelon's Philadelphia-based utility.)

'Throughout her career, Kate has been a balanced leader, assessing risks and opportunities and strategically coupling experience and analytics to inform sound decision making, and I'm grateful to have her expertise on my leadership team,' McHugh said. 'Kate has also emerged as a passionate advocate and mentor for our people and has exemplified the leadership characteristics we covet, by both fostering a culture of inclusion and emphasizing employee development.'

After joining Constellation in 2004 as part of the Origination team, Norman assumed multiple roles across the Wholesale Trading organization. Her experiences include positions on the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and international trading desks in the gas, power, capacity, coal and uranium markets, in addition to her current role directing the management and strategy of the Southeast, ERCOT, Environmental and Proprietary Trading portfolios.

'I am truly excited to join the Risk team and am eager to embrace the challenge of looking at our business from an entirely different perspective,' Norman said. 'I look forward to leading this team as Constellation continues to evolve its platform to meet the changing needs of our customers.'

In the community, Norman serves on the Women's United Executive Council for the United Way of Central Maryland and is an advisory board member for the Baltimore chapter of Urban Alliance, which creates opportunities for under-served high school students to hold internships at local companies. She is also a member of the Investment Committee for the Calvert School in Baltimore and serves as the executive sponsor for the Baltimore Leadership School for Girls' (BLYS) math tutoring program.

She holds an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from Duke University.
