COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Express Inc. (EXPR) on Thursday reported a loss of $90.3 million in its fiscal third quarter.

The Columbus, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of $1.39 per share. Losses, adjusted for pretax expenses and asset impairment costs, came to $1.17 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 47 cents per share.

The clothing and accessories chain posted revenue of $322.1 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $364.6 million.

The company's shares closed at $1.58. A year ago, they were trading at $3.64.
