Facebook's parent company Meta Platforms Inc. is pushing back its planned ticker symbol change to the first quarter of 2022, the company said Monday.

The company, which changed its name to Meta last month as part of a rebranding to reflect its expansion into the online digital realms known as the metaverse, had initially said it would begin trading under MVRS on Dec. 1.

On Monday, Meta didn't indicate a reason for the delay but said that for the time being, it would continue trading under FB, which has been used since the company's initial public offering in 2012.
