If you are wondering what companies are hiring, it is clearly the big tech giants.

Facebook said its headcount jumped 32% year-over-year to 56,653, while Google parent Alphabet said its number of employees increased 16% to 132,121.

Amazon, meanwhile, said its employee count has risen 50% over the past year to 1.125 million full-time and part-time employees. That figure excludes the e-commerce giant's contractors and temporary workers. Earlier this week, Amazon said it plans to hire 100,000 seasonal workers in the U.S. and Canada heading into the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in anticipation of a surge in online orders.
