Fast Retailing Co. announced that it will open the first three Indian stores of its popular Uniqlo chain this autumn. The company seeks to boost sales by entering the South Asian country, where personal consumption is expected to surge on the back of its continued economic growth. One of the three outlets will open in New Delhi, the capital of India, in October, selling items for men, women, kids and babies on the first to third floors, which will have a total space of 35,000 square feet. The other two stores, to be located in New Delhi and neighboring Gurugram, will launch operations shortly afterward.
