FDK CORPORATION (Tokyo Stock Exchange 2nd Section: Code 6955) will strengthen its production system by consolidating its High Capacity Cylindrical-type Primary Lithium Battery production plants into a single location.

FDK's High Capacity Cylindrical-type Primary Lithium Batteries have been manufactured at two (2) sites, Tottori Plant (Iwami-gun, Tottori, Japan) and Washizu Plant (Kosai, Shizuoka, Japan). In order to further improve its business efficiency, FDK has been preparing for this project for a year. As a result of this project, FDK will terminate production at Washizu Plant at the end of March, 2022 and consolidate production plant at Tottori Plant. The restart of operations of production facilities for the transferred models at the Tottori Plant after the relocation is expected in June, 2022. Washizu Plant will continue to operate as an Alkaline Batteries production plant.
CR2/3 8·L, CR2/3 8LHT, CR8·LHC and CR8LHT will be transferred this time. These batteries are used in electronic meters for electricity and water, fire alarms and memory backup power source for industrial equipment.
This reorganization will improve the efficiency and productivity of product development, as well as procurement efficiency and logistics of materials, which will shorten the lead time and increase convenience for our customers. In addition, FDK will reduce electricity consumption and industrial waste, and continue to promote environmentally friendly business operations by consolidating production bases.

FDK, as a Smart Energy Partner, will continue proposing the efficient use of electric energy with safely and efficiently by assembling advanced technologies.
