MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ FedEx Corp. (FDX) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $892 million.

On a per-share basis, the Memphis, Tennessee-based company said it had profit of $3.30. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $3.47 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.21 per share.

The package delivery company posted revenue of $21.51 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $19.97 billion.

FedEx expects full-year earnings in the range of $16.80 to $17.40 per share.

FedEx shares have risen 1.5% since the beginning of the year, while the S&P's 500 index has risen 4%. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $263.51, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
