Electric vehicle maker Xos Inc. on Monday said it signed agreements with FedEx Ground operators in several states to deliver 120 zero-emission electric trucks.

The deliveries, which will take place this year and next, are to ground operators in California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Texas, Xos said.

The company also said it is in discussions for additional vehicle deliveries with these operators as well as other FedEx Ground operators.

Xos had previously announced a planned business combination with special purpose acquisition company NextGen Acquisition Corp. which would see Xos become a publicly listed company. NextGen has scheduled an Aug. 18 special meeting of shareholders to vote on the proposal.
