Feintool International : True knowledge instead of just trying things out

Being able to operate presses is one thing. Knowing how everything is connected is somewhat more complicated. In order to understand the core of the factors that interact during fineblanking, ten participants from the Scherdel company attended a fineblanking course at Feintool. The conclusion of one participant: "Very interesting and helpful in everyday work life."

Hand on heart: do you know the mutual influence of cutting force, counterforce, ring tooth force, tensile strength of the material, fineblanking oil, stripping force and ejector force? And if so, what about the calculation of these forces? Ten employees of the Scherdel company have deepened their knowledge of the interaction of these and other factors in a three-day training course. In addition to training by experienced instructors, the participants also had the opportunity to learn about new trends and innovations on site - directly from the technology leader.

Consolidating competencies

Scherdel is active in the processing of metallic wire and coil and produces parts and assemblies manufactured with Feintool presses in the automotive, e-mobility and medical technology sectors. In order to understand in depth how fineblanking works, ten people from middle management, for example shift supervisors, project managers or toolmaking employees, took part in the training. Michael Krech, who has over 20 years of professional experience, is Head of Training at Feintool and led this workshop. He challenged the participants time and again.

He trained them in the fineblanking process with its characteristics and peculiarities, especially in comparison to conventional punching. The advantages, but also the challenges of fineblanking as well as the possible applications and combinations with other processes were discussed in detail. However, the participants were not only comprehensively provided with theory, but were also on their way practically and had to calculate the forces themselves, for example.

Positive feedback throughout

The dedicated and curious group was able to take away a lot from the training and praised the quality of the course. Thomas Kenzler, shift supervisor at Scherdel, said, "It's interesting and helpful for everyday life to understand the physical and mechanical theory behind the fineblanking process." His colleague, Tomi Stieglitz, a trained process mechanic and also a shift supervisor, summed it up this way: "We're now learning the theory to what we've been trying out so far with learning by doing."

Linda Dosen would like to practice even more training: "It was a lot of information, but we have now received a good reference book. But you never stop learning and that's why I would like - to go even more in depth - to attend more training courses. Because it really gets exciting with the complicated parts."

Feintool training courses have a long tradition

It was always very important to company founder Fritz Bösch to further develop fineblanking technology and pass on the resulting knowledge to his customers. That is why these training courses enjoy a long tradition and a firm place at Feintool. Because, as Fritz Bösch was convinced, successful customers also mean success for Feintool. In the meantime, new developments in presses and tools have also led to further development and specification of the training courses. Customers can complete basic modules, professional modules and, of course, customer-specific application-related training at Feintool.

In addition to the intensive training, it is also important to Feintool to bring customers closer to Switzerland. As a recreation, a guided program took place in Murten on the last evening, which will also be remembered very pleasantly by the participants.
