LONDON (AP) _ Globe Specialty Metals Inc. (GSM) on Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $151.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The London-based company said it had net income of 80 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses and restructuring costs, came to 88 cents per share.

The producer of silicon metal and silicon-based alloys posted revenue of $715.3 million in the period.
