Fidel Saenz de Ormijana, Chief Technical Officer at Ferrovial Construction, has been named a Distinguished Alumni of the Academy of Civil,Architectural and Environmental Engineering of the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas.

The Distinguished Alumni Academy was created to serve as an inspiration and role model for alumni and current students of the university. It also represents recognition of their professional achievements and contribution to the world of engineering.

Fidel holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), and M.S. and Doctorate (Ph.D.) Degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He has more than 40 years of experience in the sector focused on the design of both hydraulic and transportation infrastructures, spanning several continents, including 16 years of experience in North America.

He is currently Chief Technical Officer at Ferrovial Construction leading a team of more than 200 engineers. He has been involved in academia, specifically as a professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

The Cockrell School of Engineering, part of the University of Texas at Austin, has more than a century of history and is one of the world's leading institutions for engineering education and technological advancement.
