Fire & Flower Holdings Corp. said Monday that it will open new stores in a number of Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc.'s Circle K stores in Ontario, expanding their strategic partnership.

The Canadian cannabis company said it will add four cannabis stores in the convenience store operator Couche-Tard's Circle K shops through license agreements to use its Hifyre digital retail platform and the Spark Perks member program.

The four new stores will be in the cities of Guelph, Hamilton, Brampton and Oshawa and Fire & Flower said that it has a proposed acquisition of two new cannabis retail stores in Kingston.

Couche-Tard has an about 35% stake in Fire & Flower.

"With now five co-located cannabis stores next to high-traffic Circle K stores in the Greater Toronto area, we see it as a natural extension of our expertise to pair our convenient shopping experience and differentiating store footprint with the growing customer demand for cannabis products," Couche-Tard Executive Vice President of Operations Alex Miller said.
