Firebird Metals Limited provided an update on the Rapid Development Program at its Oakover Manganese project. The upcoming 11,500m drill program remains on track to commence in July, following completion of heritage surveys and approval of the Programme of Work. The drill program is focused on improving the confidence in, and potentially growing the existing 64 Mt Inferred Mineral Resource estimate at 10% Mn (reported in accordance with the JORC Code 2012 (H&SC Consultants, August 2012) at the Sixty Sixer and JayEye prospects. A metallurgical test work program consisting of dense media separation, ore sorting plus initial hydrometallurgy will also commence shortly. The program will use PQ3 diamond core that was completed during the previous drilling program by Brumby Resources during 2011 and 2012. The drill core is from the Oakover Mineral Resource and the Karen prospect. The drill program, metallurgical test work program and logistics study are key activities of the Oakover Rapid Development Program, which has been designed to evaluate the Company's speed-to-market options, which is principally focused on Direct Shipping Ore ("DSO") and simple beneficiation processes at Oakover to generate early cash-flow and underpin a long-term strategy of production of manganese sulphate for batteries or electrolytic manganese metal industries. Data from the drill program, beneficiation study and logistics study will provide critical information to feed into a Pre-Feasibility Study, that is expected to be completed in the first quarter 2022.
