The National Bank of Abu Dhabi PJSC ('NBAD') is bringing together policy makers, senior corporate executives, bankers, investors and other market professionals in Mumbai on 3 November 2015 to discuss how to meet India's infrastructure financing needs.

The panel discussion, 'India on the rise: Funding the Infrastructure Build', will see Zia Mody, Managing and Founding Partner AZB; Seshagiri Rao, Joint Managing Director and CFO of JSW Steel Limited; and Alex Thursby, Group CEO of NBAD, address the issues and opportunities relating to investment and financing of infrastructure development projects in India. They will also discuss the benefits of greater collaboration with relevant organisations across the West-East Corridor. India on the rise, which forms part of NBAD's Global Financial Markets Series (GFMS), will be held at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

Alex Thursby, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NBAD, said, 'India has risen to become a significant economy globally, and shows strong potential to grow further. The real boost will come from infrastructure development. The government has identified the need for USD 1 trillion of investment on infrastructure, which is now a priority for public expenditure. The infrastructure investment gap also opens up exciting opportunities for the private sector over at least the next three years.'

Alex Thursby added, 'Changes in the Indian macroeconomic landscape will have immediate repercussions on economies along the West-East Corridor, the great growth region of the world that stretches from West Africa to East Asia and which Abu Dhabi is at the heart of.'

Rajeev Pant, Regional CEO for South Asia, NBAD, commented, 'NBAD is well positioned to provide support around the financing needs and contribute to shaping India's economy. India on the rise will drive forward the discourse on India's critical infrastructure needs and bring forth new insights from industry experts, which would guide decision-makers in building a roadmap.'

'India on the rise: Funding the Infrastructure Build' is NBAD's fourth GFMS event. Other Series events in recent months have included 'Egypt on the Rise: West East Corridor' in Cairo, 'The Future of Sukuk: West East Corridor' in London and 'The Future of Energy: West East Corridor' in Kuala Lumpur.

GFMS events take place around the world as part of NBAD's flagship Global Financial Markets Forum ('GFMF'), which is held annually in March in Abu Dhabi.

In just six years, GFMF has evolved to become the premier annual financial markets conference in the MENA region, attracting over 1,300 delegates from around the world to Abu Dhabi. In recent years, GFMF has hosted highly-distinguished speakers from all over the world, including Dr Mohamed El-Erian, Dr Ben Bernanke, Dr Larry Summers, General Colin L. Powell, Nicholas Sarkozy, David Miliband, Jean-Claude Trichet, Niall Ferguson, Paul Volcker, Axel Weber, Dr. Nassim Nicholas Taleb, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and His Excellency Nasser Ahmed Al Sowaidi.
