MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ First Business Financial Services Inc. (FBIZ) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $5.8 million.

The Madison, Wisconsin-based bank said it had earnings of 67 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 55 cents per share.

The bank holding company for First Business Bank and First Business Bank-Milwaukee posted revenue of $32.8 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $25.7 million, which also topped Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $23.3 million, or $2.68 per share. Revenue was reported as $77 million.

First Business Financial Services shares have dropped 5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $25.02, an increase of 22% in the last 12 months.
