MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ First Business Financial Services Inc. (FBIZ) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $6.1 million.

The Madison, Wisconsin-based bank said it had earnings of 71 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 57 cents per share.

The bank holding company for First Business Bank and First Business Bank-Milwaukee posted revenue of $32.6 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $29.3 million, also topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $26.3 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $17 million, or $1.97 per share. Revenue was reported as $104 million.

First Business Financial Services shares have risen 1% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $18.60, a decrease of 30% in the last 12 months.
