First Graphene Limited advised that planarTECH (Holdings) Ltd. and the Company have signed a memorandum of understanding towards developing a robust supply chain for the manufacture of innovative personal protective equipment (PPE). The initial focus will be on the production of planarTECH's bacteria-resistant protective face masks. planarTECH have developed an innovative face mask which utilises a graphene coating to provide anti-static and bacteria-resistant properties to the mask. Current demand for these products is rapidly increasing as world populations seek protection from airborne infection and planarTECH need to increase their manufacturing supply chain capability to meet significant and growing demand. FGR has a well-established and robust supply chain for the manufacture of their high performing PureGRAPH® graphene products and have an already proven successful formulation that disperses uniformly into polymer coatings. The two companies have agreed to collaborate to rapidly test and implement the use of PureGRAPH® materials into anti-static coatings for PPE. Materials development activities are already underway, and the companies anticipate rapid progress to full scale manufacturing of the protective face mask. Further graphene enabled products in the PPE sector are expected to emerge. This collaboration does not create a legally binding agreement between either company. Following successful testing the companies will finalise the commercial arrangement for the supply of PureGRAPH®. There are no other material terms or estimate of economic impact. FGR will keep the market informed as the test work progresses.
