First Steamship Co., Ltd. announced earnings results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2020. For the third quarter, the company announced sales was TWD 1,881.348 million compared to TWD 1,746.163 million a year ago. Net loss was TWD 21.433 million compared to TWD 120.235 million a year ago. Basic loss per share was TWD 0.03 compared to TWD 0.17 a year ago. For the nine months, sales was TWD 4,503.235 million compared to TWD 5,830.439 million a year ago. Net loss was TWD 356.675 million compared to net income of TWD 1,204.321 million a year ago. Basic loss per share was TWD 0.53 compared to basic earnings per share of TWD 1.75 a year ago. Diluted loss per share was TWD 0.53 compared to diluted earnings per share of TWD 1.57 a year ago.
First Steamship Company, Ltd. is a Taiwan-based company principally engaged in sea transportation businesses and the operation of department stores. The Company operates through two segments. Sea Transportation segment is engaged in the provision of international transportation services of bulk cargo and ship chartering services. It focuses on cereals, ore sands, coal and fertilizer, among others. Ships under the Company include Ever Blossom, Ever Shining, Ever Excellent and Ever Leader, among others. Department Stores segment is engaged in retailing businesses in Mainland China. It provides apparels, jewelry products, cosmetics products, footwear products, sports supplies and home appliances, among others.
