WELLINGTON, New Zealand--Respiratory devices maker Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Ltd. said it isn't forecasting revenue or earnings for its current financial year due to uncertainties stemming from the pandemic.

The company on Wednesday said revenue in the first four months of the financial year was 583 million New Zealand dollars ($403 million), down 2.0% from a year earlier in constant currency terms.

Nearly three-quarters of revenue was from sales of hospital equipment, but Fisher & Paykel said it doesn't expect hospital sales to continue at an elevated level.

The company said it wouldn't provide forecasts "given the continuing uncertainties associated with vaccination rates, the efficacy of various vaccines against variants of the coronavirus, and public and civic responses to Covid-19 case numbers."
