Noise-intensive work will take place at the runway intersection at Zurich Airport in early May 2019 and will last two weeks. The work has to be carried out at night owing to the proximity to the runway.

In connection with the refurbishment of runway 10/28 scheduled for 2021, various preparatory tasks have to be done this year. A new transformer station will be installed at the runway intersection, which will provide electricity for the ground lighting system. Sheet piling needs to be erected, which creates noise, and this has to be done at night owing to the proximity to the runway. The work will commence in the night from 5-6 May 2019 and is set to last two weeks. It will be carried out after flight operations have ceased between approx. 23:30 and 5:00 in the nights from Sunday until Friday morning. As a rule no work will be carried out overnight from Friday to Saturday or from Saturday to Sunday. Noise emissions will be inevitable during the construction period. Flughafen Zürich AG kindly asks residents for their understanding.
