Annual General Meeting 2022 of Flughafen Zürich AG
Summary
At today's Annual General Meeting of Flughafen Zürich AG, the shareholders approved all items on the agenda in accordance with the proposals of the Board of Directors. Due to the consolidated loss, the payment of dividends is waived. The members of the Board of Directors standing for re-election were elected for a further year.
The 2022 Annual General Meeting of Flughafen Zürich AG focused on the annual report 2021 and the developments of the current financial year. After a challenging first half of 2021 with low passenger and traffic figures, a recovery became apparent in the second half of the year. As a result, Flughafen Zürich AG was able to achieve a positive result in the second half of 2021 and reduced its consolidated loss to a total of CHF 10 million.
All items on the agenda were approved in accordance with the proposals of the Board of Directors, including the waiver of the payment of dividends in accordance with the principles of the applicable dividend policy.
Election of the Board of Directors
The members of the Board of Directors standing for re-election, Corine Mauch, Guglielmo Brentel, Josef Felder, Stephan Gemkow and Andreas Schmid (Chairman), were elected for another year. The mandated representatives of the Canton of Zurich on the Board of Directors responsible for the airport dossier are Carmen Walker Späh, Head of the Department for Economic Affairs, as well as Eveline Saupper and Vincent Albers. The representatives of the Canton of Zurich on the airport operator's Board of Directors are not elected by the Annual General Meeting, but delegated by the Government Council of the Canton of Zurich.
As already communicated on March 24, 2022, Chairman of the Board of Directors Andreas Schmid has decided not to stand for re-election at the 2023 Annual General Meeting and to step down from the Board of Directors of Flughafen Zürich AG at that time. The designated successor is Josef Felder, a long-standing member of the Board of Directors and former CEO of Flughafen Zürich AG.
