In April 2025, 2,778,265 passengers passed through Zurich Airport, corresponding to an increase of 6% compared to last year.
In April, the number of local passengers was 2,006,636. Transfer passengers amounted to 28%, equal to 767,902 passengers. Zurich Airport managed the increased volume of passengers over the Easter weekend very well. Passenger numbers over the Easter period met expectations, averaging around 100,000 people per day. Along with the spring, summer, fall and Christmas vacations, Easter is one of the busiest times of the year in terms of passenger numbers at Zurich Airport.
Year on year, air traffic movements increased by 2% to 22,360 take-offs or landings. The average passenger per movement figure increased to 138 (+3% vs. previous year). The average seat load factor was at 81% (+1 percentage point vs. previous year).
A total of 37,489 tons of freight were transported at Zurich Airport during the month of April. This led to an increase of 8% in freight volume compared to last year.
