Flutter Entertainment plc (ISE:FLTR) was on May 12, 2021 forced to delay the float of its American business after the sudden resignation of the boss, Matt King. King is quitting after four years as Chief Executive Officer of FanDuel Inc., which Flutter plans to list in New York. The group behind Paddy Power, Betfair and PokerStars admitted his departure is a blow. Group Chief Executive Officer Peter Jackson said: "While we will be sorry to see him leave, he leaves the business in great shape." He added: "We are starting the process of looking for a new Chief Executive Officer for FanDuel, and we remain focused on maintaining our leadership position in the US market." The statement added: "Whilst Matt's departure will affect the timing of any potential US listing, the board will continue to keep this option under review." Flutter shares fell nearly 2% to GBP 13,135.
