Last month we launched our refreshed and comprehensive safer gambling strategy for the UK & Ireland business. The strategy, which works alongside our new global Play Well strategy, is the culmination of many months of hard work, bringing together the best from across our existing businesses and challenging areas where we need to go further.

Today I would like to talk about Discover. A core pillar of our strategy, Discover focuses on proactively advancing the industry's understanding of gambling harm. And as we shift our approach to concentrating more on the best methods of prevention, as opposed to simply just intervention, we are continually investing in research to understand more about gambling related harm behaviours and leading the way by sharing what we discover with the broader industry.

An example of this is our annual Problem Gambling Severity Index ("PGSI") survey, which looks at the risk behaviours of Sky Betting & Gaming customers. In 2021 over 2,000 customers self-assessed their gambling behaviour over a 12 month period. This provided us with valuable insights based on customers own reflections of their relationship with gambling. This proved invaluable when designing our Safer Gambling strategy, which focuses on the use of tailored safer gambling measures and tools - rather than a blanket approach - to support a range of customer needs. This year we are extending our PGSI survey to our Paddy Power and Betfair brands, as well as increasing the customer sample size.

We know we have much more to Discover as we navigate the execution of our strategy. And as we continue to take a leadership role in safer gambling, throughout 2022 we will research more, learn more and share more.
