Manager, Program Management Office

FLYHT is looking for an engaging and motivating Manager to guide and direct our Program Management team. This leader will be integral to the effectiveness of the day to day operations of the program management office and essential its the strategic planning. Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and direction to Project Managers regarding development of project plans, documentation, scope and objective definition, schedules, budgets, reports and KPI measurements and reporting
  • Monitor staff and third-party resource allocation and availability
  • Monitor and track performance and progress against project plans
  • Monitor and manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
  • Troubleshoot problems that come up during projects
  • Report and escalate project concerns to management as needed
  • Apply continuous improvement to improve project performance and reduce costs.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Manage monthly program status review meeting, risks and issues meeting, and staffing meeting.
  • Communicate project scope, resource, schedule, and risks to program sponsors, business customers and stakeholders
  • Contribute to harmonization of work cultures and foster an expectation of high standards and pursuit of excellence across sites
  • Develop, implement and maintain program management processes

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of project management experience with proven experience leading multiple project teams through full project lifecycles
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Engineering (Software, Electronic or Aviation)
  • PMP Certificate
  • Proven experience working with enterprise development teams throughout the project lifecycle, ideally using Jira tools, and waterfall and Agile development techniques
  • Previous product development (hardware and software) experience
  • Strong experience in resources planning and scheduling
  • Strong track record of successful and timely project delivery
  • Advanced MS Project skills
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills, including proven advanced level Excel knowledge
  • Sharepoint administration experience, an asset
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Previous NetSuite experience, an asset
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry, an asset
