The Municipality of Fuengirola (Malaga) and FCC Medio Ambiente have signed the new contract for urban solid waste collection and road cleaning for a period of four years, with two possible extensions of one year each. The amount contracted amounts to more than 22 million euros.

It is not the first time that FCC Medio Ambiente is linked to Fuengirola, since it provided collection and cleaning services in the city of Malaga between 2005 and 2015.

To serve the more than 75,300 inhabitants and collect around 38,000 tons per year of the rest fraction, the collection service will have a fleet of three 25m3 side-load collectors, three 18 m3 rear-load collectors, three box vehicles open, an ampliroll truck, four porter pressure washer, a side-loading and a rear-loading container washer truck, a workshop van and a mobile clean point box.

As for the road cleaning service, which covers about 210 km of street distributed in 25 sectors, the company will have vehicles and specialized machinery such as 20 electric tricycles, eight open-box porters, three vacuum sweepers, six bucket trucks, a scrubber, a self-baler and a high pressure water pressure van.

To carry out the different services, FCC Medio Ambiente will have a staff of 148 employees. During the summer season, reinforcement will be carried out both in the waste collection service and in the road cleaning service in order to supply the population.

The set of services will be organized and monitored through VISION, a comprehensive digital management platform developed exclusively by FCC Medio Ambiente, which allows us to meet the described objectives and respond to current customer requirements and be prepared for future challenges.
