LIVERMORE, Calif. (AP) _ FormFactor Inc. (FORM) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $17.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Livermore, California-based company said it had net income of 23 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 36 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 33 cents per share.

The integrated circuits diagnostic company posted revenue of $188.1 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $185.3 million.

For the current quarter ending in October, FormFactor expects its per-share earnings to range from 31 cents to 39 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $182 million to $194 million for the fiscal third quarter.

FormFactor shares have decreased 16% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $36.30, a climb of 23% in the last 12 months.
