Mr Ken Ambrecht to Retire as a Director of Fortescue

Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX: FMG, Fortescue) advises that Mr Ken Ambrecht will retire as a Director at the Company's 2012 Annual General Meeting and will not be standing for re-election. Mr Ambrecht joined the Fortescue Board as a Non-Executive Director in October 2003 and is a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee and the Remuneration and Nomination Committee.
The Board would like to acknowledge the valuable contribution that Mr Ambrecht provided as a director with the company over many years. His wealth of experience in the international finance sector has been of significant value to the development of Fortescue. The Fortescue family would like to express its gratitude to Mr Ambrecht for the guidance and support he has given the Company over nine years as a Director.
