Fortis Inc. said its leader, President and Chief Executive Barry Perry, has signed a pledge to end anti-Black racism, along with other leaders of Canadian public companies.
Companies have moved to reassess their workplace diversity and product branding amid a national reckoning over racial justice following the killing of George Floyd.
The pledge is part of the BlackNorth Initiative and the Canadian Council of Business Leaders Against Anti-Black Systemic Racism, the electric and gas utility company said.
