DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) _ Fortune Brands Home & Security Inc. (FBHS) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $217.2 million.

The Deerfield, Illinois-based company said it had profit of $1.55 per share. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs, came to $1.56 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.37 per share.

The maker of products for the home, like faucets, cabinets, windows and doors posted revenue of $1.94 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.89 billion.

Fortune Brands Home & Security expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.65 to $5.85 per share.

Fortune Brands Home & Security shares have risen 13% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $96.51, an increase of 34% in the last 12 months.
