An outstanding new vacation destination with our G.O® and G.E® constantly on-hand to take care of everything, promises high-end, all-inclusive vacations giving guests a complete change of scenery and the chance to experience piece of mind as a destination with Club Med!

A brand-new Club Med in the heart of a stunning region

The region's magic could be down to a meteorite which created the beautiful Charlevoix crater when it hit 400 million years ago. A remarkable energy hangs in the air that makes visitors want to breathe deeply, open their eyes as wide as possible and start exploring right away. An authentic and tourist region immersed in breath-taking scenery, with 3 incredible national parks and the impressive Saguenay Fjord - the ancient glacier valley now flooded with water is a natural marvel which moves many. Charlevoix is located between the river and the mountains and has become a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve given its wide array of fauna and flora. The region is a must for skiers, hikers and water sports enthusiasts alike, season after season.

Club Med chose to set up its first Resort in Canada in the heart of these outstanding settings. The Resort is a favorite attraction just 90 minutes from Quebec International Airport to enjoy the natural and cultural gems of a place like no other.

The Resort blends into the surrounding countryside

Since 1950 when Club Med was founded, the core focus has always revolved around the ideal of living together in harmony and guests recharging their batteries in protected natural surroundings. For several years, Club Med's commitment has been reflected in a program called "Happy to Care" and the implementation of numerous measures to promote responsible tourism.

The new Quebec-Charlevoix Club Med has been designed to blend in with its surroundings as much as possible. Under Happy to Care, Club Med strive to be the first North American vacation Resort to obtain two top internationally recognized certifications - BREEAM eco-construction and Green Globe for everyday management - that 90% of the worldwide Resorts already have.

What's more, the new Resort uses a smart system to monitor energy consumption in detail and Club Med have teamed up with local firms such as Solucycle to take care of food waste, which is collected and converted into renewable energy, specifically bio-gas and compost. Lastly, Club Med Bye-bye Plastic program put a stop to single-use plastic at bars and restaurants at all the worldwide Resorts.

Top-notch and local culture-promoting architecture and facilities

The Resort's 302 bedrooms, including 25 spacious Exclusive Collection suites, were designed by architects and interior design consultants Lemaymichaud. The modern style recalls Quebecois patchwork quilts: a combination of colors, textures and shapes inspired by the four seasons, is a key feature. Rethought aspects of traditional Quebec architecture illustrate how the Resort changes in winter. Local materials, such as blond wood and leather made by artisans were used for the interior design. Rooms are decorated in a true Quebecois style: the outline of the boreal forest on the partition separating the bedroom from the bathroom, bright colors like cardinal red inspired by the eponymous North American bird, old barn doors painted in carmine red, Hudson Bay Company cushions, log tables, acorn-shaped hangings and more. The building's curves were designed to naturally mirror the land on which it is built, and to offer guests as much sunlight as possible to enjoy the spectacular surroundings and the river from indoors.

"Our mission was clear: pay tribute to Quebec. Our team rethought local traditions and did their utmost for this outstanding location. The fact that the sea and the mountains can be enjoyed simultaneously in Quebec inspired our work. The whole construction is full of things recalling our history, folklore and culture. Our entire team pooled all their individual skills for the architecture, interior design and graphic designs. After 9 years hard work, we are proud to deliver a stand-out Resort to a stand-out client." Said Project designer Katrine Beaudry and architect Alexis Lemay, Lemaymichaud partners.

The marvels of Québec through the seasons

December 3, Club Med's brand-new flagship in Canada is gearing up to welcome the first guests at the authentic Resort surrounded by stunning natural settings.

The Resort will be open all year and is set to become a "bucket list" destination for those who love adventure and nothing but nature as far as the eye can see and who want to enjoy themselves in peace of mind.

In winter, the Resort will be the leading Resort in Canada offering high-end, all-inclusive ski packages with unbeatable views of the St. Lawrence River. It provides access to 164 hectares of skiable terrain for all levels, offering spectacular skiing experiences east of the Rockies. Alpine or cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoes, Nordic walking and ice skating are all on the package program, including ski passes and lessons for all levels. Guests who enjoy surprises can choose à la carte activities available at the Resort, such as riding a snowmobile or a sled pulled by dogs or belting down the 4.5-mile long toboggan run, for example! Winter is also the perfect season to try out ice fishing and ice canoeing on the St. Lawrence River.

The marmots emerging from hibernation in spring are intrigued by the cyclists and joggers, while keener guests are already climbing impressive "via ferrata" (climbing paths) to get another stunning view of the river below. The beauty of the scenery is a delight for canoe, raft and kayak enthusiasts seen from the water in the summer. The Resort also offers mini golf, volleyball courts and various acrobatics such as aerial hoops and flying trapeze. The surrounding forests take on bright new colors in the fall. Hikers of all levels can explore the wild freely, accompanied by professional guides.

An authentic Resort for family vacations

Club Med Quebec Charlevoix was designed for families to share a special time together. The activities of the Amazing Family program were specially designed for the whole family to enjoy together. Play, take a challenge, join a team, return to your childhood or you can share a tea-time feast, watch a film at the movies or attend a parent-child yoga lesson. Club Med always offers something fun for the whole family.

Baby Club Med, Petit Club Med and Mini Club welcome children (from 4 months* to 17 years old) to soothing and entertaining settings. For teenagers, the Passworld app offers the opportunity to make friends, meet up and create life-long memories together.

Local gastronomy tops the bill, with 80% of the products sourced locally

There are several eating outlets at the Resort, all offering spectacular views. Le Marché is the main restaurant with a buffet set out like a local market brimming with regional specialties. Terroir & Co offers a friendly ambience for families to share a cheese fondue or raclette (another typical melted cheese meal) with local cold cuts and a maple taffy for dessert (hot maple syrup served on snow and rolled into a lollypop). Le Chalet Gourmet Lounge is warm and cosy, serving the chef's take on mouth-watering local cuisine. The menu boasts a gourmet, authentic Quebecois experience with cheeses, cold cuts, organic meat and poultry, as well as farmhouse cider and beer from local micro-breweries. Not forgetting Le Météore Bar for live entertainment and meeting up day and night.

Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out

The inspiration for the Charlevoix Resort's wellness center was inspired by Scandinavian spas and includes a large range of equipment and treatments designed to relax and unwind. Swimmers and relaxation-seekers will delight in the 75-ft long heated pool open all year - it is the largest one out of all Club Med mountain Resort pools and offers spectacular views over the St. Lawrence River. The breath-taking panoramic view at Sothys Spa offers the ultimate in relaxation. Treatments include traditional Scandinavian hot baths, massage therapy, beauty, an outdoor jacuzzi, a hammam and a sauna. A snow fountain produces snowflakes in the winter to rub on your body after a hot bath to stimulate circulation. Guided meditation sessions and yoga lessons are also on offer at the wellness center.

The ideal starting point to explore Canada's stunning beauty

East Canada is bursting with natural gems and cultural treasure, from the Niagara Falls to the St Lawrence River estuary!

The Resort is also the starting point to follow in the footsteps of the first fur trappers. 5 different roaming circuits, from 3 days & 2 nights up to 2 weeks, to explore Canada far from the beaten track! Premium all- inclusive packages to free-spiritedly experience unique adventures and create memories.

Excursion program: tour of old Quebec (UNESCO World Heritage) or Toronto, tour Île-d'Orléans by bike, fly over the Niagara Falls in a helicopter, or over hundreds of lakes in a seaplane, a lobster dinner at Percé or Vancouver, whale watching from a Zodiac, initiation to Native American Culture and crossing the Rockies on Le Canadien train... breath-taking is an understatement!
