FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX Broker) - Two stocks from the healthcare sector were in demand in the leading Dax index on Thursday. Fresenius shares reached their highest level in two years, peaking 2.2 percent higher at 36.70 euros.
FMC, meanwhile, approached a high since summer 2023. At midday, they rose by 2.8 percent to 45.69 euros. The most recent high of 46.22 euros from the beginning of December thus came within reach. Fresenius holds just under a third of the dialysis service provider FMC.
Analyst David Adlington from JPMorgan advises to underweight FMC in the portfolio, but is optimistic with a view to the final quarter of 2024 and the 2025 financial year. The recent strength of the US dollar has resulted in higher estimates for adjusted operating profit (EBIT) this year. However, given the uncertain outlook for 2026 and 2027, he maintained his "Underweight" rating./bek/mis
